No. Your vet tech carries out the plan your veterinarian has already prescribed — medications, monitoring, wound care, recovery support — in the comfort of your pet's home. They don't diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or replace regular vet visits.
Do I need to already have a diagnosis or prescription from my vet before booking?
It depends. We prefer clients to have one, and we request medical records for all medical bookings, since it helps your vet tech provide care that's consistent with what your veterinarian has already recommended. If you're not sure whether your situation qualifies, reach out and we can talk it through.
What kind of medical care can a vet tech provide at home?
Medication administration (pills, injections, and more), post-op monitoring and recovery care, wound care and bandage changes, and general condition monitoring — all following your vet's exact instructions.
What if my pet needs emergency care?
In-home medical visits are for ongoing, non-emergency care your vet has already outlined. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, please contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency animal hospital right away.
